Capital Health and Rehab Members Join SEIU Healthcare Michigan

orkers from Capital Health and Rehab are celebrating a huge victory today. They voted overwhelmingly to unite in SEIU Healthcare Michigan.
“We wanted to form a union at Capital Health and Rehab for so many reasons -for our residents, equality, and dignity. We won our union election by sticking together and standing united. Yes We Can and Yes We Did! The change is here! We are ready to go to the negotiating table,” Chesea Parker, CNA.
SEIU Michigan State Council endorses U.S. Rep. Gary Peters
Recently, the 
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Michigan State Council announced that it has endorsed U.S. Rep. Gary Peters for Congress in the new 14th District. In addition to his record of standing up for working Americans, Peters also grew up in an SEIU family with his mother serving as an SEIU Union Steward who helped organize her workplace. In their endorsement, SEIU cited Peters’ record of delivering real results to strengthen our economy and help working families across Michigan.
“I grew up in an SEIU family with my mother working as a Union Steward, so I’m deeply honored to have the SEIU standing with me in the campaign for the new 14th District,” said U.S. Rep. Gary Peters. “With the SEIU joining a growing number of labor unions supporting my candidacy, I am confident that we will be successful in our grassroots campaign to strengthen the economy and help families in the Greater Detroit region.”
