Health Care on Chopping Block for Millions with GOP Graham-Cassidy Bill

The threat to Americans’ healthcare is still real and alive. Senate Republicans are up to their old tricks: making a mad dash before their Sept. 30 deadline to push through a healthcare repeal bill, the Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson bill, that will rip healthcare from millions of Americans and working families, and penalize seniors for being old and individuals with pre-existing conditions for being sick. Once again there will be no time for the public to understand the impacts on their health care: no hearings, no consultations with experts, no constituent input, or amendments. It’s the same tactic, only with a new name.

This bill eliminates coverages for millions, makes massive cuts to Medicaid, guts protections for people with pre-existing conditions, pushes healthcare costs to states, and eliminates tax credits that help working families access and afford healthcare. The Graham-Cassidy-Heller bill is not a solution to the rising healthcare costs facing working families. It is a partisan plan that would hurt working families and gut Medicaid for seniors, children and people with disabilities.

We urge our elected officials to stop playing politics with our health and stop sabotaging the healthcare that working people count on. It’s time for a bipartisan solution that keeps what works in the healthcare law and improves what doesn’t. Call 866-426-2631 today to demand that your Senator vote NO on this bill that strips coverage for millions, hikes premiums for seniors and sick folks, and gives away massive tax breaks to insurance and drug companies.
